Kalorama car show - Photographed using the Kodak EasyLoad 35… - FlickrWhether it's a live band playing or custom radio tracks, music is a key component of a successful auto show. Consider a partnership with a local radio station that will broadcast from your venue while promoting your auto show. Know your audience and select music and appendant entertainment that complements the genre of cars at your show. Centrally locate your entertainment so it can be heard and seen by participants. This central spot should also be used to announce car show winners for contests. Advertising an auto show is important. There are so many outlets available to get the word out about your car show. If your car show is hosting a contest or giving away prizes for best cars in their classic car categories, remember to order trophies for those categories ahead of time. Make sure enough money is spent on the trophies to make winners want to proudly display them on a shelf and give them incentive to come back next year.

What to know: Cars & Coffee started with a small group of friends who would meet up on Sunday mornings to talk about their cars and drink some coffee. Although our events have now grown to a much larger crowd, the informal atmosphere and friendly environment are much the same today. Overhaulin': This is still probably the greatest classic car show on television to date and that is why it continues to top our list. The entire premise of the show is to overhaul a classic for someone deserving. Chip Foose and his team manage to trick the unsuspecting car owner into believing their car has been stolen or gone missing. They then do a complete rebuild of the vehicle to bring the Chip Foose design to life and surprise the owner with the completed car. It is a great show as they are not in it for the money, but rather for bringing joy to someone that has been dreaming of the restoration, but just didn't have the means to accomplish it. Chip is not only generous but is considered by many to be the best custom classic car designer in the world. You can catch the latest episodes of Overhaulin' season 10 on MotorTrend. Car Masters: Rust to Riches: If you are surfing Netflix for a car show to binge watch, we recommend Car Masters: Rust to Riches. The show spotlights the crew from Gotham Garage. In each episode they perform modern makeovers on classic cars. If you are into RestoMods, this is a great chow for you to catch. The purpose of each show is to increase the vehicle's value while creating unique customs, hence the name Rust to Riches. They have released two seasons so far, for a total of 16 episodes and each one is as good as the next.

Canyon Lake Dam Community Alliance's 4th Annual DAM FINE Car ShowPeople who are interested in your car will want to speak to you about it. They will ask you all manner of questions and have all manner of personal experiences. Even if you think the inquiry is dumb, have some patience. In today's "Social media fueled hide behind a keyboard day and age, it takes at least some amount of courage to strike up a conversation with a stranger. You'll come off the much bigger person than the gruff, standoffish ogre acting like even rolling out of bed that morning was barely worth his time. Don't want to talk about your car? Then don't show up. Tell your story about how you found that one part, Share how much your car means to you and as I said before: this holds especially true for children; teach them, share with them. Engage with them and if they are especially curious and polite? Let them sit in your car or show them why you love the little unique aspects of your car. And I'll say it again: This is Really Important: Because you are helping to raise a new generation of enthusiasts. Maybe someday that future enthusiast will talk about the good version of "That Guy." He or She may tell his children someday at another show 20 years later about "That Guy" who shared and enriched their love of the Automobile.

Everyone has different tastes. Everyone has different budgets. Just because the car next to you doesn't have perfect paint, Or is a newer car, or features some discount brand parts, doesn't make it any less deserving of its owner's pride. Don't like his or her style? Keep it to yourself - because there are probably plenty of people who don't like yours either. And here's the important thing to remember: Do you care what they think? We're guessing not. This is especially true when it comes to folks to the scene. Offering real advice or help instead of put downs helps make for a better community. Not everyone has the means or experience to create a 100-point show-winner.However, their story might be far more interesting than that of the guy with unlimited funds who just dropped a bare chassis off at the local restoration expert and told them to make it perfect.
